I purchased my oven before Christmas. It took forever to score a refurb, every time they became available they were gone before I could finish a purchase. However, perseverance paid off and the deep discount from new was worth the effort.
I admit that my first reaction upon unpackaging it was disappointment. While not damaged, the outside of the oven looked very unsightly with many finger prints and smudges. However, I used some stainless cleaner and it polished up nicely and now looks like new. I could see no evidence on the inside that it had ever even been turned on. I think someone unpacked it, decided it wasn't the right size and then returned it. I was somewhat disappointed that the refurb department did not take the time to clean it back up again.
The accessories were brand new, all wrapped in plastic and in perfect conditioin. The manual was a different story. Pages were bent and warped, but not dirty. Like another said, they may just put the manuals in a big bin and grab one when packaging these up for shipment.
I was anxious to try it out to see if it lived up to the hype in the many many glowing reviews on the non-refurb site. I was not disappointed. This oven is fantastic! I can see that I will have little use for my stove or microwave now. It worked perfectly, the temperature seemed right on and the food that was cooked could not have turned out better. I even used it with the included pizza pan to reheat restaurant pizza leftovers. For the first time ever, the leftovers tasted just as good, if not better, than they had in the restaurant!
I'm now convinced, this oven rocks! It is the best purchase I've made for my kitchen ever! I am so happy that I was able to find the refurb for over $100 less than new.
As a side note, I also purchased the bamboo cutting board for it. The first had to be returned due to a defect, the second is perfect. Although pricey, it looks awesome on it, plus it provides extra storage space insulated from the heat of the oven. A winning combination!
